Founded in 1861, North Central awards Bachelor's degrees in over 55 majors and Master's degrees in six. Popular programs include Biology, Biochemistry, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Entrepreneurship, Interactive Media Studies, Jazz Studies, Psychology and Sport Management. Full-time intensive English and conditional admission are available. The low student-to-faculty ratio (15:1) and small faculty-taught classes encourage interaction between students and professors. Students are strongly supported in their pursuit of research and internship opportunities. Easily reached by plane, train or car, our campus is just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago and O'Hare International Airport and a two-minute walk from downtown Naperville, Illinois and the train. Our 3,000 students from 28 states and 40 countries enjoy a safe, suburban campus community with easy access to Chicago's resources. Staff provide airport pick-up and orientation for all new international students as well as ongoing immigration advising and support. Over 65 student organizations offer opportunities for student involvement. Campus housing is available to international students in twelve residence halls. North Central College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, ranked #15 in the Midwest among Regional Universities by U.S. News & World Report, and a 2015 Senator Paul Simon Campus Internationalization Award recipient. Merit-based scholarships of up to $20,000/year are available to international undergraduate students.
