The Marshfield School District has a proud legacy of exemplifying exceptional academic excellence rivaled by few if any in the state. Marshfield High School consistently earns prominent national awards from highly prestigious news media outlets including number one rankings in the state from Newsweek Magazine and The Washington Post. In 2013, Marshfield High School received a number three state ranking for ”Best High Schools” from U.S. News and World Reports. The hallmark of our high school remains our robust and expansive Advanced Placement (AP) program. Through Advanced Placement, students are able to enroll and receive college level credit for courses offered at Marshfield High School. Enrolling in Advanced Placement coursework increases a student’s eligibility for scholarships and makes candidates more attractive to American colleges. Eighty-five percent of colleges and universities report that a student’s AP experience favorably impacts admissions decisions. In 2014, the AP College Board recognized 221 Marshfield High School students as Advanced Placement Scholars, the largest groups since the inception of the AP program. Again this year, a Marshfield High School student was named the top AP State Scholar. This award goes to one male and one female student in the state each year. Marshfield has produced 14 AP State Scholars, far more than any other high school in the state.
