Westlake Girls High School is New Zealand’s largest state secondary school for girls, with 2,200 students. Westlake is recognised both nationally and internationally as a school with an outstanding level of achievement in academic studies, music and sports. Situated on the North Shore of Auckland,near vibrant shopping centres, beaches and 15 minutes from the heart of the city by bus, where the University of Auckland and many tertiary institutions are located.  A major bus station is adjacent to the school. Our brother school ‘Westlake Boys High School’ is just up the road. Westlake Girls High School offers NCEA as an academic pathway to University Entrance. As well as academic studies, we have many other programmes of interest for international students wishing to broaden their skill set: Hospitality, Media Studies, Child Development, Outdoor Education and Horse Riding lessons (cost involved).  English is assessed on arrival. Students are integrated into academic classes and English is supported with EAP and special language programme designed to ensure student obtained the necessary Literacy requirements for tertiary study and University Entrance. Students are placed with safe, caring homestay families who have been specially selected and approved. We have a dedicated team of staff including Chinese, Korean and Thai first language speakers. We provide a 24/7 hour emergency telephone support for our students.
