The Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) English Language School offers University quality English language tuition using state-of-the-art University quality facilities. The Language School is located in the beautiful UNESCO world heritage city of Canterbury. Canterbury is just 1 hour from central-London by high-speed rail, 2 ½ hours from Paris via the Eurostar and is the 2nd safest University city in England & Wales. Run by the University’s Department of English & Language Studies, the Language School offers English as a Foreign Language and University preparation programmes all year round. EFL classes take place in CCCU’s own specialist ELT centre and all programmes are fully accredited by the British Council. Staff are fully qualified (TEFLQ), the majority to Masters level, with others holding or completing PhDs in TESOL-related areas. The Language School also offers bespoke programmes for closed groups that utilize the wider expertise of the University such as English for Business, English for Teacher Training and English for Nursing. During the summer period a full social programme is provided that takes advantage of University facilities such as the Student Union building and CCCU Sports Centre. Mid-week activities in Canterbury are included in the cost of tuition, weekend excursions are available at extra cost. While studying with us, students have the option of either University Halls of Residence or Homestay accommodation.
